Arlington Bishop Paul S. Loverde has announced the appointment of Angela Pellerano as Director of Media Relations, effective June 20th.  A bilingual Cuban-American with extensive experience in many facets of broadcast journalism, Angela will serve the needs of media within the diocese in her role as diocesan spokesperson.

"Angela brings to the Diocese of Arlington not only a wealth of experience in broadcast journalism," said Bishop Loverde, "but a commitment to sharing the Church's message of Good News through service to members of the media.  Her faith and experience will undoubtedly bear fruit as together, we seek to invite all within the boundaries of this diocese to an encounter with Christ and His Church."

"I am thrilled and honored to serve the Catholic Diocese of Arlington," Angela said.  "This is a faith-filled diocese with so many stories of compassion, education, evangelization, and service to those on the margins of our society.  I look forward to sharing these stories and bringing them to the light of wider audiences."

Angela has more than 15 years of experience as an Emmy Award-winning broadcast journalist. Born in Cuba, Angela grew up in Miami, Florida, where she attended parochial schools through high school. After receiving a BS from Piedmont College, Angela lived and worked in a number of states, covering a variety of national stories, campaigns, and high profile events.  Known for her investigative reporting and in-depth interviews, Angela's roles have included reporter, weekend news anchor and acting managing editor at CBS 6 News in Richmond; investigative producer at KARE/NBC 11 News in Minneapolis, CBS 4 in Miami, and WSCV 51/Telemundo in Miami.

The Catholic Diocese of Arlington encompasses 21 counties and seven independent cities in the northern tier of Virginia. More than 450,000 Catholics belong to the Diocese's 69 parishes and five missions.
