Pope Francis tells us that “it is our responsibility” as Catholics to bring Church teaching into what he calls “the digital continent.” Here in the Diocese of Arlington, I am excited to present to you our new website. 

With our new diocesan website, you can navigate easily through our numerous programs and ministries, discover fresh news and content on a weekly basis, and find diocesan events in your area. This effort complements the newly redesigned website of our award-winning Arlington Catholic Herald, at catholicherald.com. 

Here I hope you will discover more about Christ’s Church here in the northern tier of Virginia—where our 69 parishes and 5 missions serve the people of God in 21 counties and 7 cities, encompassing 6,500 square miles. 

As Blessed Pope Paul VI said, the Church “exists to evangelize,” and on this new website we have done our best to provide you with the right tools to help your family, friends, and community in the journey of faith as you all go forth and spread the Good News. 

If you are watching this on your phone, you’ll notice we’ve also updated the website to be compatible on any device you use, phone or tablet, so you can easily access all of our ministries, initiatives, event information and resources at any time or place, right when you need them. 

Last, but not least, the new diocesan website is seamlessly integrated with social media, making it easy to share content with friends and family or view the latest updates on our diocesan Facebook or Twitter with just one click. I am pretty happy about that: in addition to our diocesan social media efforts, I personally offer a daily tweet devoted to encouraging you in your faith.
