ARLINGTON, Va. – The Most Reverend
Michael F. Burbidge, Bishop of Arlington released the following statement:
After consultation with the Diocesan Presbyteral Council, it
gives me great joy to announce the establishment of Saint Bridget of Ireland
Church in Berryville as a parish in the Diocese of Arlington, effective
July 12, 2017. Since its establishment in 1999, Saint Bridget has been a
mission of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Winchester.
I thank all those who have given their time, talent and
treasure to build up the Catholic community in Berryville over the years.
I especially thank Father Stan Krempa, pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church
in Winchester, for his attentive ministry to the Mission of Saint Bridget of
Ireland over the past 16 years. Fr. Krempa will be the founding pastor of St.
Bridget of Ireland Parish.
