What did you do prior to entering seminary?

Taught middle school religion and social studies at St. William of York Catholic School.

What influenced your decision to apply for seminary entrance?

Spending a lot of time with families in a parochial environment really increased a desire in me to find deeper ways to serve the people of our diocese.

Why do you want to be a priest?

I want to bring Christ to His people, both through His infinite mercy and the gift of His most precious Body and Blood.

What are your favorite pastimes?

Sports, both watching and playing, as well as watching movies.

What is your favorite quote?

“Let nothing disturb thee, Nothing affright thee; All things are passing; God never changeth.” (St. Theresa of Avila)

Who is your favorite Saint and why?

My favorite Saint is probably St. Peter. He was far from perfect while here on earth, and yet strove constantly to better himself. He often let his emotions get in the way of completely surrendering himself to God's will, and yet in the long run Christ was able to utilize Him to create His everlasting Church here on earth. He gives me hope that Christ will be able to use someone as broken as me for great things as well.

What advice would you give to a young man thinking about the seminary?

I would tell them that even the slightest urge to enter the seminary, to entertain living the life of a priest, is unnatural, and placed there by God. Most people never feel this at all. Therefore, if you do, you owe it to yourself to explore it more deeply.
