John is the diocesan Coordinator for Evangelization and Adult Faith Formation. A cradle Catholic who drifted away from the Church in his early teens and spent many years alternating between bitter atheism and worldly indifference, he returned to the Church in 1998 and discerned a religious vocation with the Trappists and Dominicans. He holds a BA in History from the University of the Pacific, an MLitt in Ancient History from the University of St. Andrews (Scotland), and an MA in Theology from the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology. A Master Catechist, he was very active in RCIA, adult faith formation, and catechesis at the parish and diocesan levels in his native California before moving to Virginia in 2013. He has given presentations and led workshops on a variety of topics at parishes and diocesan conferences on the east and west coasts. John lives in Arlington with his wife Colleen and their daughter Gemma, where they are parishioners at the Cathedral of St. Thomas More.
