John Mitchell has a heart for evangelization and for helping Catholics experience a deeper, more personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Since his retirement in 2013 as a Fairfax County math and computer science teacher, he has spent his time working in volunteer capacities for both the diocese and his parish. In the Diocese of Arlington, he has worked closely with the Special Assistant to the Bishop for Evangelization and Media and was involved in organizing the 2014 evangelization conference “Risk Jesus.” He also leads the contemporary choir at the Noon Mass. John is a long-time member of the Northern Virginia branch of People of Praise, an ecumenical Christian community. He and his wife are parishioners at St. Philip’s in Falls Church, where John is a leader of the ChristLife program.
