Vocations
Vocation awareness and discernment groups assist candidates considering a vocation. Currently, there are 24 seminarians supported with room, board, tuition and health care expenses as they prepare to serve our parishes. This area also includes support of active and retired priests.
Young Adults, College Campus Ministries and Family Life
Ministries and programs support young adults, college students and families. These areas include: Project Gabriel, Project Rachel, Marriage Preparation, Marriage Enrichment, Theology on Tap, Respect Life Programs as well as campus ministry programs at George Mason University , Marymount University and Mary Washington University .
Pastoral Ministries
Programs include Ecumenical Outreach, Fairfax Hospital Chaplaincy and diocesan multi-cultural ministry programs.
Spanish Apostolate
Catechetical, Sacramental and other programs are offered for Spanish-speaking Catholics.
33 parishes now have Sunday Mass in Spanish.
Dominican Republic Mission Parishes
Assistance from Fr. Dan Gee, Fr. Chris Murphy and lay volunteers who support the spiritual, health and social needs of over 15,000 mainly subsistence farmers with catechetical, sacramental and community services.
Youth Ministry, Catholic Schools and Religious Education
These programs help young people grow in their Catholic faith and provide direction and support for parents, pastors, principals, youth ministers and other parish leaders as they provide guidance to young people.
Parish Programs and Other Services
Examples include help with liturgical issues, development of new parishes, and parish and diocesan fundraising programs. The diocese, parishes, schools and over 3,000 employees are assisted through these areas and many other programs, offices and services.
Catholic Charities
Adoption, Foster Care, Counseling, Crisis Pregnancy, Elderly Services, Services for the Disabled, Prison Ministry, Immigrant Services (Hogar Hispano) and Emergency Assistance programs are a few of the programs coordinated through Catholic Charities.
