Master Catechist Training Program

    Master Catechist Training Program

The Master Catechist Training Program is open to experienced catechists who are ready to deepen their involvement in the catechetical ministry of the Church. After completion of a two-year program, candidates will be certified as Master Catechists, qualified to provide catechetical training in parishes. In the program, candidates grow in their faith through instruction, days of prayer, peer mentoring, and spiritual direction.

    • Year I focuses on key doctrinal and catechetical topics.
    • Year II focuses on aspects of human development: psychological, moral, emotional and spiritual; catechetical method; and the development of skills related to teaching adults. Attention to and support for the candidates' personal spiritual development are continuous throughout the program.

We will begin to accept applications for new applicants for the 2014-2016 Master Catechist Program beginning August 2014. A mailing will go out to all pastors & DREs in May or June with materials to give to interested catechists.
