The Office of Victims Assistance
In, June 2002, the Bishops of Catholic Churches met in Dallas and approved the Charter for the Protection of Childern and Young People.
These are the two coordinators for the Diocesan Office of Victims Assistance.
Patricia Mudd, coordinator of Victims assistance
Patricia Mudd worked with Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington for over 35 years in various capacities: as a caseworker for Children’s Services, supervisor and Director of Children’s Services and as Associate Director for Social Services. Her work in Children’s Services was in the crisis pregnancy, foster care, adoption and post adoption counseling programs of the agency.
Patricia has also served as a member of the Adoption Development Outreach Planning Team, the Virginia Child-Placing Advisory Committee to the Virginia Department of Social Services and Mary’s House Board of Saint Anthony’s Parish.
Patricia received her undergraduate degree in History from Saint Joseph’s College, Emmitsburg, Maryland and her Master of Social Work degree at The Catholic University of America. She is certified by the Academy of Certified Social Workers.
Patricia Mudd has served as a Victim Assistance Coordinator since the summer of 2004.
Kathryn Kramer,
Coordinator of Victims Assistance
Kathryn Kramer received her undergraduate degree in English from The Catholic University of America and her Master of Arts degree from the University of Maryland.
She earned her Master of Social Work degree at The Catholic University of America and completed internships at Hearts and Homes for Youth and the Alexandria Department of Human Services. After completing her Master of Social Work degree, Kathryn continued to work at Alexandria Department of Human Services for several years as a full-time foster care social worker. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Virginia.
During her time at the Hearts and Homes for Youth, Kathryn provided individual and group therapy for adolescents. At the Alexandria Department of Human Services, Kathryn worked with foster children and families, testified before Juvenile and Circuit Courts, and sat on committees within the agency.
Kathryn Kramer has served as a Victim Assistance Coordinator since the fall of 2008.
