a MESSSAGE FROM BISHOP PAUL S. LOVERDE
As I travel throughout the diocese, I no doubt see in some of the faces of our youth and young adults the faces of future parents, future priests and future religious sisters and brothers. During these decisive years in your life, as you personally discover and develop the gifts God has given you, you must also strive to discover the vocation He has laid out for you to travel.
This should be done so that you may accomplish the "master plan" or "life project" He entrusted to you when He created you. I want to express my gratitude for your prayerfully considering the possibility that God may be calling you to the consecrated life. As you know, our diocese is growing very quickly.
We need good priests who will lead us in holiness, we need good religious men and women to minister to those in need and to pray for our diocese. God is indeed calling you to a particular vocation. It's an exciting time as you discover and respond to His invitation. If your response is a generous and open one you will not only be uniting yourself more closely to the Lord, but you will also be fulfilling the deepest longing of your heart!
Who we are:Women, age 17 and older, who live, work or are from the diocese and are wondering if God might be inviting us to serve Him and His Church as religious sisters or cloistered nuns
What we do:
Why we are:To help create a 'vocation culture' as we encourage and pray for one another to be open and generous in responding to the particular vocation to which God is calling us.
Call and response:A call to live the consecrated life is a unique gift of the Holy Spirit and is based in the person's baptismal consecration. Every person who makes this commitment goes through a process of discernment to find his or her path to God. Responding to the call requires time and prayer and searching for the right community. Each person experiences this call as a gift and mystery and the process of discernment as a time of deep conversation with God.
