''FIAT' is a Latin word for 'Let it be done'. It was Mary's response to the angel Gabriel when she was asked to become the mother of Jesus. 'Let it be done unto me according to Your Will' refers to Mary's 'Yes' to God. The members of FIAT are young women in high school who desire to grow in faithful discipleship by modeling their personal holiness on that of our Lady. By doing so they hope to be better able to discover their own vocation invitation from our Lord, whatever that might be and make their own "fiat" or "yes" to Him. The Office of Vocations is hosting FIAT DAYS 2013 from June 30-July 4, 2013 at Mount St. Mary's in Emmitsburg, MD. The overnight camp will be an opportunity for High School age young women, rising 9th graders through senior year, to discover more about their call to holiness in Christ and how to discern their vocation. |
