Catholic Charities Thrift Shop Colonial Christ House thrift shop on S. West St. in old town Alexandria is in serious need of volunteer helpers. They have LOTS of donated clothes and household items that need to be sorted, organized, arranged – and hopefully, distributed! In Matthew 25, Jesus reminds us of the necessity of doing good works, especially the corporal works of mercy, among which is included the prescript to welcome the stranger and visit the sick. This forms the basis for the age-old tradition of Catholic healthcare. I would like to personally invite you to consider assisting the work of the Guadalupe Free Clinic in Colonial Beach as your response to our Lord's call to each of us to help those in need.
