Promo Video/DVD

BASH is our largest gathering of Catholic junior high students (6th-8th graders) every year! This event is a celebration of our Catholic faith and love of the Lord. We are planning for well over 700 junior high students to gather for over six hours of faith, fellowship, and fun!

A promotional DVD will be mailed out in March to all parishes.

This includes music, games, inspirational speakers, confessions, and Sunday Mass with Bishop Loverde. This year we are collaborating with the Office of Vocations and BASH will include a special focus on discernment and finding your place in God’s plan. BASH is designed to be open to any Jr. High School aged youth (6th - 8th grade) that want to attend. So please welcome and invite them to participate in the life of the Catholic Church! In other words, invite your friends!

*All must register through the parish youth office- so call your youth coordinator today! No walk-ins will be allowed.

Over 30 of the 68 parishes in the Diocese of Arlington attended BASH 2011 -- we would love to see even more of you there this year!

*ALL teens and adult volunteers must register thru their parish...no walk-ins will be allowed!

The Speakers

ApeX Ministries

APeX Ministries (aka Gene and Brad) is an internationally known comedy duo based out of Baltimore, MD and Casper, WY. Since 1996 they have traveled North America using a style they define as Christian Vaudeville. This includes death defying juggling, sketch comedy, and personal testimony. In other words, they are evangelists, they throw things at each other, and they are funny. Gene hopes one day to compete in the Olympics as a solo synchronized swimmer. Brad is very strong!

Father James Searby

Fr. James Searby, our keynote speaker, is currently the parochial Vicar at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Lake Ridge, VA. He studied at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary and was ordained in 2005. He did his undergrad work in history at the University of Dallas and worked for a number of years in Manhattan - his most noteworthy job being with Barnum and Bailey – before entering the seminary. Even though he has traveled the world and hobnobbed with celebrities, he still considers the priesthood his greatest adventure.

Registration Procedures

Young people that want to participate must sign up through their parish Coordinator of Youth Ministry. The cost is $10.00 per participant (youth and adults), which includes all of the great entertainment above, dinner, and snacks.

Procedure for Coordinators of Youth Ministry to sign up your group:

  1. Get your youth excited about BASH by downloading copies of the poster (large posters were mailed out DEC 2011) and posting them at your parish; and watching the promotional DVD (will be mailed out in March). You can download 8 1/2 x 11 size BASH posters... click on the link below on this page.
  2. Get a head-count of how many will be participating, and download the BASH Permission Slip for each to complete.
