Hope in Him

This year's theme for youth ministry is based upon Pope Benedict XVI's World Youth Day homily in which he spoke about "Hope". Particularly, he referenced 1 Tim 4:10, "we have set our hope on the living God". From this, the Office of youth ministry is encouraging all ministries throughout the diocese to look to "HOPE in Him" for the annual theme. This theme will culminate throughout the weeks of WorkCamp this summer.

To assist with your parish's preparation, we have developed a resource (also in the Parish Prep Manuals) with a few of the many references to hope in Scripture.

Volunteer Appeal (Adults)

As stated above, this is the first year that we are hosting two weeks of WorkCamp! As such, we can use volunteer help in many ways. All adult volunteers - Crew Leaders, Homebase, Contractors - are welcome to join us both weeks (teens may come to one week only).

Remember: all adult volunteers must have taken at least one year off after high school; if you graduated in 2009, you must wait to volunteer until 2011.

Here is a list of volunteer roles: click here for the list

If you would like to volunteer, please contact Paul Bevins with any questions at p.bevins@arlingtondiocese.org.
