St. Bridget of Ireland Mission was established in 1999 to serve the growing Catholic population of Clarke County. It has more than 1,000 registered members.

A mission becomes a parish when it is financially stable and when land is secured for a church building, if there is not a church already. Saint Bridget already has a church building, which was dedicated by Most Reverend Paul S. Loverde on May 25, 2002.

Reverend Stanley Krempa, who has been the pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Winchester since June 28, 1999, has also been pastor of St. Bridget because it is a mission of Sacred Heart.  But once he is installed, Reverend Krempa will only serve as the pastor of St. Bridget of Ireland Catholic Church.

Father Bjorn Lundberg will be installed as the new pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 5:30 p.m.
