Respect Life Month 2020

October is traditionally observed in the Church across the United States as Respect Life Month. During this month, we pause and give thanks for the gift of human life.  

This year's theme, “Live the Gospel of Life,” reminds us that authentic discipleship means choosing to see and serve Christ in all people, especially the unborn, the aged, the infirmed, the poor and the most vulnerable. May we continue to spread the Gospel of Life through the witness of our lives and always seek to do our part as God's holy family to proclaim consistently and courageously his truth in love. 

This year, we also have the opportunity to take direct action in supporting the unborn and vulnerable by bringing our convictions with us into the voting booth. By participating in the political process as faithful citizens, we can give voice to the voiceless and remind our society that life is the foundation upon which all other rights are based. 

We know that many suffer the pain caused by abortion. Especially at this time, I invite anyone who might be suffering the agony and aftermath of abortion to join our confidential Project Rachel ministry so that they may move forward with hope and healing.

Strengthened by our prayer, together in the light of Christ, I ask Mary our Mother to keep us all under her mantle as we seek to live the Gospel of Life with hope and joy.

con motivo del Mes del Respeto a la Vida, 2020

Octubre se ha observado tradicionalmente en la Iglesia de todos los Estados Unidos como el Mes del Respeto a la Vida. Durante este mes, nos detenemos a dar gracias por el don de la vida humana.  

El tema de este año, Vive el Evangelio de la Vida, nos recuerda que el discipulado auténtico significa ver y servir a Cristo en todas las personas, sobre todo en los niños por nacer, las personas de edad, los enfermos, los pobres y los más vulnerables. Que sigamos predicando el Evangelio de la Vida mediante el testimonio de nuestra vida y que siempre busquemos hacer la parte que nos corresponde como santa familia de Dios para proclamar sin cesar y con valor su verdad en el amor. 

Este año, también tenemos la oportunidad de actuar directamente para apoyar a los niños por nacer y a los vulnerables al llevar nuestras convicciones a la cabina electoral. Al participar en el proceso político como ciudadanos fieles, podemos dar voz a quienes carecen de ella y recordarle a nuestra sociedad que la vida es el fundamento en el cual se basan todos los demás derechos. 

Sabemos que muchas personas sufren el dolor causado por el aborto. Particularmente en este momento, invito a quienes podrían estar sufriendo la agonía y las secuelas del aborto a unirse a nuestro ministerio confidencial del Proyecto Raquel para que puedan seguir adelante con esperanza y sanación.

Fortalecidos por nuestra oración, juntos en la luz de Cristo, le ruego a María, Nuestra Madre, que nos cubra a todos con su manto mientras tratamos de vivir el Evangelio de la Vida con esperanza y alegría.
