Rev. Mr. Christian Njodzela

Theology III
Mount St. Mary's Seminary/Saint John Paul II Major Seminary Bachuo-Ntai Mamfe, Cameroon
St. Andrew the Apostle Parish/Diocese of Kumbo, Cameroon

What did you do prior to entering seminary?

I entered the seminary immediately after high school.

What influenced your decision to apply for seminary entrance?

The love of service. Offering Christ to the people through the Sacraments because as an altar server I saw how happy people were when I accompanied the priests to give Communion to the sick and elderly.  The celebration of Mass or some parts of the Mass in Latin also influenced my going to the seminary.

Why do you want to be a priest?

To serve God through offering service to his people especially by bringing Christ to them.

What are your favorite pastimes?

When I was an altar server we would travel to different mission churches to work with the young people.  I also enjoyed playing soccer with friends, especially during our inter-quarter competitions.

What is your favorite quote?

“Never Despair" “Nil Desperandum"

Who is your favorite Saint and why?

Saint Rita of Cassia because of her courage and her ability to face the truth as it is. And for not giving up even in times of great difficulties, she never once despaired.

What advice would you give to a young man thinking about the seminary?

Let him know that the call to the priesthood is a call to service which demands love and faithfulness to the One who calls and to the people entrusted to his care.

If there are any other facts about yourself that people might find interesting, you can note them here:

I love being where there's vitality because am a happy person and love making fun so that my environment should not be tense. I love being with friends and I love playing soccer also.
