Speaker- Fr. Jack Peterson, YA

Biography: 
Father Jack Peterson, Y.A., is the Director of Development for Youth Apostles, a Catholic community of single, married, and consecrated laymen and consecrated clerics who are dedicated to the service of young people. He entered Youth Apostles as a layman in 1981 and has held several leadership posts in the community, including serving for 12 years as the General Director.

A native of Northern Virginia, Father Jack received Holy Orders in the Diocese of Arlington in 1989. He has served as the parochial vicar at five parishes in the diocese, and has maintained a steady involvement in youth, college, and young adult ministry that began well before his priestly ordination.

Father Jack has given numerous seminars and talks to teachers and audiences across the country on different aspects of faith, spirituality and youth ministry. 

Presently, Father Jack is also serving as the YA Consultant for the new youth ministry program at St. Bernadette parish in Springfield, VA. From 2002 to 2007, Fr. Jack served the Chaplain and Director of Campus Ministry at Marymount University. From 2008-2017, he served as Assistant Chaplain. Prior to his service at Marymount, Father Jack was the Chaplain at Mary Washington College from 1995 to 2002. He was the youth minister at St. Louis parish in Alexandria, Va., from 1989 to 1992 and served the former St. Mary’s Academy as its chaplain in 1990. Father Jack’s formal career in youth ministry began with his work at St. Anthony parish in 1985, as he began his seminary studies.

Jack Peterson studied and graduated from Bishop D.J. O’Connell High School in Arlington, Va., in 1981. He received his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Virginia in 1985. Following his undergraduate degree, he entered the seminary and studied from 1985 to 1987 at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C., and from 1987 to 1989 at Mt. St. Mary’s in Emmitsburg, Md., where he received a Master’s in Theology in 1989.

Meet in the Cellar downstairs where we have the whole room reserved. Food and drinks are served starting at 6:30pm, then the talk begins at 7:30 pm & ends with Q&A.
