Queen of Apostles in Alexandria, Virginia entrusts its mission “under the protection of the blessed Virgin Mary and guided by the Holy Spirit…” With parishioners hailing from many parts of the world, it is a diverse and welcoming parish.

Mary as Queen of Apostles

Mary as Queen of Apostles is one of the titles of Mary in the beautiful Litany of Loreto and is rooted in Scripture as well as in Catholic tradition. St. Luke wrote that after the Ascension of Our Lord, the Apostles and several disciples were gathered together in the Upper Room with Mary, “persevering with one mind in prayer.” (Acts 1:14)

Features and location

When you visit, the first thing you will notice is the beautiful Adoration chapel in the vestibule. Take time to pay Our Lord a visit there. He is always waiting for us. Also, look for the near life-sized statues of the Apostles surrounding the altar. There is also a very nice gift shop in the parish office open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed from 12 to 12:45 for lunch).

María como Reina de los Apóstoles

María, Reina de los Apóstoles es una de las designaciones de María en la hermosa Letanía de Loreto y está arraigada en la Sagrada Escritura y en la tradición católica. San Lucas escribió que después de la Ascensión de Nuestro Señor, los Apóstoles y varios discípulos subieron a la sala donde solían reunirse con María y que “íntimamente unidos, se dedicaban a la oración”. (Hechos, 1:14)

Características y localidad

Durante su visita, lo primero que notarán será la hermosa capilla de la Adoración, situada en el vestíbulo. Tomen tiempo para visitar a Nuestro Señor allá. Él siempre nos está esperando. Además, admiren las estatuas de los Apóstoles, de tamaño casi natural, que rodean el altar. También hay una bonita tienda de regalos en la oficina de la parroquia, que está abierta de lunes a viernes, de 9.00 a.m. a 5.00 p.m. (está cerrada de 12.00 m. a 12.45 p.m. para el almuerzo).
