What did you do prior to entering seminary?

I used to work as a car mechanic and spend my free time working with a Spanish youth group named School of Leadership “Santa María.”

What influenced your decision to apply for seminary entrance?

Asking God in silence to show me his will; it also came from a realization of the great need that exists for priests in the Church.

Why do you want to be a priest?

I want to be a priest because I see that people are in need of someone who cares about them. This world is thirsty for happiness and searching for it in the wrong directions, and I want to help them come to know Christ who is the way to happiness.

What are your favorite pastimes?

Hiking, playing soccer and bike riding.

What is your favorite quote?

“The only tragedy that can happen to us is not to be saints." St. John Paul II.

Who is your favorite Saint and why?

My favorite saint is St. Joseph, because he knows Jesus so well, he was the first one who held Jesus, and also he always sought to do the will of God, regardless of the circumstances.

What advice would you give to a young man thinking about the seminary?

Don't be afraid, with Jesus you will never lose. Pray at every moment, both while you're doing your duties, as well as spending time alone with the Blessed Sacrament in silence.
