Speakers:

Victoria Tripp, LCSW

Tori is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and completed her education at the National Catholic School of Social Service at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. Prior to her completing her Master of Social Work, she was conferred her bachelor's degree in theology from Catholic University and completed a Certificate for Pastoral Ministry. She currently works as a therapist at Revelations Counseling and specializes in clients who are suffering from disabling anxiety, depression, and grief, or otherwise needing counsel due to chronic illness, caregiving responsibilities, end of life issues, or spiritual distress.

Jennifer Cotnoir, SafeTALK Trainer

Jennifer is a mom to three children.  She is a School Counselor at St. Louis Catholic School in Alexandria and is passionate about mental health and reducing the stigma associated with it.  She and her husband of 31 years began their marriage serving as Youth Ministers at two parishes in the State of Maine.  Their favorite saint is Padre Pio

Michele VanBellenghem, SafeTALK Trainer

Michele is a married, mother of five children.  She has a degree in Economics from George Mason University and is currently a student of Theology of the Body.  A life-long educator, she taught music and phys ed at Our Lady of Hope Catholic School for more than a decade.  Her favorite saint is Saint Damien of Molokai.

Topic:

Adolescent Development and SafeTALK 

In-Service training is intended to immerse DYMs and other ministry workers into certain topics relevant to their ministry. The day also serves as an opportunity to develop a specific ministry skill.

Familiarize yourself with the stages of development and how it impacts your ministry efforts. Learn best practices for pastoral care of young people in suicide crisis.

The sessions will count toward the Certificate in Youth Ministry.

Who's Invited

This training is being offered to everyone that works with youth and young adults in the diocese: Directors of Youth, Campus, and Young Adult Ministries, Directors of Religious Education, their volunteer teams, and parish priests.
