Eastern Catholic Parishes in the Diocese of Arlington

The universal Catholic Church is comprised of many different liturgical rites.  The Roman Catholic Church is the largest and most familiar, but there are also many Eastern churches which exist in full communion with Rome while maintaining their distinctive Eastern traditions.  These Eastern churches are grouped broadly under four main churches which trace their origins to the original four ancient patriarchates of Jerusalem, Antioch, Alexandria, and Constantinople (Byzantium).  They are distinct from the Western Church of Rome, which is the fifth of the original ancient patriarchates.

Here in the Diocese of Arlington, we are blessed by the presence of three Eastern Catholic parishes:
