On Saturday, May 4, 2024, the Asian and Pacific Island Catholic communities will come together to celebrate their heritage and Marian devotions. This Marian day of prayer will include the following communities: Bangladeshi, Burmese, Cambodian, Chamorros, Chinese, Filipino, Indian, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Laotian, Lebanese, Montagnard, Pakistani, Samoan, Sri Lankan, Thai, and Vietnamese.

The 20th annual Asian and Pacific Island Catholics Marian Pilgrimage opened with a procession of nearly two dozen Catholic communities with roots in that part of the world May 6. The event was held at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington.

U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops Announces Encountering Christ in Harmony: A Pastoral Response to Our Asian and Pacific Island Brothers and Sisters

Approved by the U.S. bishops during their Spring 2018 General Assembly, the pastoral response will guide the Catholic Church in the United States in addressing the pastoral needs of Asian and Pacific Island communities and provide a framework for dioceses and parishes for creating their pastoral plans or actions specific to their circumstances.
