20th Anniversary of 9/11

Bishop Burbidge issues statement for 20th Anniversary of 9/11 (en español)

Our hearts are filled with sadness as we remember the events of September 11, 2001. Many of us recall where we were when we heard the news and viewed the images 20 years ago, when nearly 3,000 people were killed in the terrorist attacks perpetrated against the United States. We also remember the great heroism of ordinary citizens and first responders who were willing to sacrifice their lives so others may live, as well as the spirit of unity that helped our nation begin to heal. While we take a moment to bow our heads in silence and prayer for all impacted by 9/11, we also pray for a renewed sense unity that brings true peace to our world, which can only be truly realized if we remain one nation under God.
