SUMMARY:FIAT Summer Camp
DESCRIPTION:The FIAT Camp lottery is now closed. Those who have a spot in the camp will be notified by March 14. The deadline to complete registration is April 14; after that your spot in camp will be given to the next person on the waiting list. If you would like to be added to the waiting list\, please email vocations@arlingtondiocese.org\, and include camper's name\, birthdate\, current grade (2024-25)\, and your parish. Note campers must be currently in grades 9-12 and cannot turn 19 before camp starts. \nWhat is FIAT Camp? 5 days and 4 nights at Mount St. Mary's Seminary\, for high school girls who want to gain tools for living and praying to lay a solid foundation for their future.  FIAT Camp is staffed by religious sisters and young women also striving to grow in holiness. Arlington priests serve as the chaplains for camp. \nMornings at camp focus on the spiritual\, including Mass and talks\, and afternoons are all about sports\, games and crafts; evening events are a mix. One day there's a pilgrimage to the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes. \nWhen? July 20-24\, 2025. Camp opens at 11:00 a.m. Sunday\, pick-up is 1:00 p.m. Thursday and campers must be present for the whole of camp. There is noon Mass and a picnic for families on opening Sunday. \nWho? Girls currently in grade 9-12\, who won't be 19 by the time of camp.  \nCost? $310\, incudes private room\, hall bath\, all meals and activities. Payment plans and financial aid are available.  \nWhy? See photos and the Arlington Catholic Herald article about camp and read some comments from campers on what they most enjoyed: \n"I enjoyed interacting with the sisters both during recreation time and meal times. I also appreciated the joy and friendly spirit that everyone brings to the camp." \n"The sisters were amazing!! So fun and wise! The personal retreat time where you had the chance to go to confession\, be in adoration\, be outside\, or have a valuable and deep heart-to-heart with a sister." \n“There was nothing I didn't love. I really loved all the time we spent in prayer (especially the Liturgy of the Hours) and the talks from the sisters. The Eucharistic procession was AWESOME!” \n"I really enjoyed the authenticity of each talk\, the sisters knew how to connect with the campers through humor and experience." \n"I think there was a great balance of prayer and play!" \n"The best part was bonding with other girls and the sisters through faith and sports." \nWe are so fortunate to have had such great demand for this camp\, though we are sorry it has meant that we don’t have room for everyone who wants to attend.  These camps are an opportunity for young people to grow spiritually and learn about vocations\, but they are not the only means. If you are interested in exploring your vocation\, please contact the Office of Vocations to schedule a meeting with Fr. Isenberg. Additionally\, there are other FIAT events during the school year that will give you this opportunity to interact with religious and sisters and grow in holiness\, and we encourage you to join us for one of those.
