What did you do prior to entering seminary?

I attended Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio where acquired a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy. I went to Franciscan University on an Army ROTC scholarship. In May, having completed four years in Army ROTC, I was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Army as a Chaplain candidate.

What influenced your decision to apply for seminary entrance?

I have been praying and thinking about the priesthood ever since my senior year of high school. The thought and pull towards the priesthood have been steady ever since then. I desire to explore more of the call that I think the Lord has placed on my heart. I applied to seminary to intentionally discern if God is calling me to the priesthood.

Why do you want to be a priest?

I want to answer the call that I think the Lord has placed on my heart. I desire to love others and work for the salvation of souls as a priest.

What are your favorite pastimes?

My love to run, bike, swim, hike, and explore the outdoors. I also love to sit down and read a good book!

What is your favorite quote?

"Here is a rule for everyday life: Do not do anything which you cannot offer to God." — St. Jean Marie Vianney

Who is your favorite saint and why?

St. John Bosco, because of his love to play or relate with others and then effectively share the gospel and pray with others.

What advice would you give to a young man thinking about the seminary?

I would tell him that he does not have to be 100% certain that God is calling him to be a priest in order to enter into seminary. The application to the seminary is not the same as the letter you write to the bishop for ordination. Do not be afraid to discern if God is calling you to the priesthood.

Are there any other facts about yourself you'd like to share?

Something interesting about me is that I lived in Europe throughout my childhood for 9 years!
