Youth Ministry program includes: St. Mary's Youth and Young Adult Apostolate (YAYA) serves youth from middle school through high school in addition to young adults from college through age 39.
Middle School Youth: We host events for 6th-8th grade students that attend Mass at St. Mary’s Parish and their friends. We have "F3" (Faith, Fun & Friends) twice per month on Friday evenings, a fun night of music and games. There are also special outings like a Ghost Tour in October, bowling, and laser tag. Finally, we offer a week-long WorkCamp-style summer camp in June called "Camp Apostles."
High School Youth: LifeNite is held every 1st Friday of the month. The night features exciting activities and a guest speaker to explore how to "live life to the fullest." High schoolers are also invited to weekly single-sex small-groups called Catholic Life Communities (CLCs) on Wednesdays. We begin the night with a social activity, read the upcoming Sunday's Gospel, and have a faith-related discussion. We also host special events, such as a trip to Cox Farms and pilgrimage to Mount St. Mary's.
College-aged: Seasonal events are offered for college students who are home on break. Incoming freshmen are invited to a College Night every summer.
Young Adults: Those between the ages 21 & 39 are invited to weekly young adult events. Every Thursday night starting in January 2017 we will offer a weekly co-ed Bible study. Young adults also get together every 2nd Sunday of the month following the 11:30am Mass to get brunch. Finally, every 3rd Saturday of the month, a group goes to nearby Christ House Food Pantry for a service day followed by lunch. There are also special events, such as caroling, movie showings, and game nights.
St. Mary's is also home to a very active Scouting community and the Junior Catholic Daughters of America. Walking With Purpose offers activities for female young adults of the parish.

Why I work in Youth Ministry: I was impacted by many faithful adults when I was a teenager and continue to as a young adult. Their example and guidance led me to a real and authentic relationship with God. If it was not for their surrender to God's will, I would not have understood the magnitude of God's love.  After graduating from George Mason University, the Lord set out a straight path to this job and I have found consolation and inspiration from the Holy Spirit since. I hope that I can be a faithful instrument in leading young souls to Christ and His church.
