April 18, 2018
ARLINGTON, Va. – On Saturday, April 21, beginning at 9 a.m., Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge, Bishop of Arlington, will celebrate Mass at the Cathedral of St. Thomas More in Arlington and afterward pray a Rosary in front of the Falls Church Healthcare Center - an abortion facility in Falls Church, Virginia.
The purpose of the Mass and Rosary is to give thanks for the gift of human life in all its stages and pray for the protection of women and children who are in imminent danger from the violence of abortion.
The turnout is expected to be large, with an estimated 100-150 Christendom College students attending. While on any given Saturday, the college’s Shield of Roses pro-life club has around 15-20 people praying outside the Falls Church Healthcare Center, this weekend is the group’s “Mega Shield.” Also, students from several diocesan high schools are also expected to participate.
