Bishop's Lenten appeal 2016 

     Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:  

                Throughout our lives, at one time or another, each of us will find ourselves in need of God’s mercy.  In his announcement of the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy, Misericordiae Vultus, Our Holy Father Pope Francis declared, “Jesus of Nazareth, by His words, His actions and His entire person reveals the mercy of God…. Mercy: the bridge that connects God and man, opening our hearts to a hope of being loved forever despite our sinfulness.”  This touches upon an essential aspect of our Catholic faith:  that we are a hopeful people who believe in the love and mercy of God, revealed through His Son Jesus Christ.   

    Fittingly, as we continue in the Jubilee Year of Mercy, I have chosen “Go forth as heralds of God’s mercy” as the theme for the 2016 Bishop’s Lenten Appeal (BLA). Read More...
