St. Charles Borromeo Seminary
St. Patrick Parish
What did you do prior to entering seminary?
After graduating from the University of Mary Washington with a Degree in Business Administration, I worked for a couple different businesses before working for BerkleyNet insurance company as a Claims adjuster.
What influenced your decision to apply for seminary entrance?
When I was 13 years old I felt a call from God. I have been blessed to witness the example of many great priests in our diocese. These priests and the other holy people in my life greatly influenced me in this decision.
Why do you want to be a priest?
I have always wanted to help people. I’ve witnessed parish priests helping people by praying for them as well as by dropping everything to be there for the people of their parish, and that really made me consider the priesthood.
What are your favorite pastimes?
Aside from hanging with friends and family I would say that I love to play/listen to music, hockey, ping-pong, and learning new hobbies.
What is your favorite quote?
“Who has made man’s mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now therefore go and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall speak.” Exodus 4:11-12
Who is your favorite Saint and why?
St. Maximillian Kolbe. Not only was his devotion to St. Mary powerful but he also offered up his life for one of his fellow prisoners while in a prison camp.
What advice would you give to a young man thinking about the seminary?
The thing that has helped me the most is finding friends that are close to you. You should be able to open up and talk about how you feel. It helps reaffirm what you feel is your call. Also be willing to challenge yourself by always working on improving yourself.
