The Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge, Bishop of Arlington, has released the following statement for National Foster Care Month:

With all people of good will, we join in the observance of May as National Foster Care Month. Each year, nearly a half million children in need of a home are embraced by foster care families. The provision of foster care is just one example of the generosity, compassion and loving spirit that are part of the Church’s vision of family life.  This month, we pray that God will bless abundantly all foster care parents, and that those entrusted to their care may continue to grow in wisdom, age and grace.
