Lectio Divina

Lectio divina is a Latin term that means “divine reading” or “sacred reading.”  It is a very ancient practice of reading the Scriptures not for information about God but in order to enter into a deep and personal relationship with Him. To read more about the history and methodology of lectio divina, visit this page.

The Diocese of Arlington is pleased to present a series of lectio divina meditations in both English and Spanish. In these series, you will learn the basics of putting lectio divina into practice. Our diocesan priests will teach you what lectio is, but more importantly, how you can incorporate it into your life of prayer to draw closer to God.

While the meditations will be released weekly throughout Advent 2024, we encourage you to return to these videos throughout the liturgical year.

Video Release Schedule:

Monday, Dec. 2 | The Annunciation (EN) | La Anunciación (ES)

Monday, Dec. 9 | The Visitation (EN) | La Visitación (ES)
