Topic: Hope in the Midst of Conflict: Christian Mission Work in Burma.
Talk description: Christians have been disproportionately affected by the ongoing civil war in Burma. These groups face violence, displacement, and religious suppression as the military seeks to maintain control over diverse populations and extinguish opposition to its rule. This talk will focus on the impactful mission work of the Free Burma Rangers, a courageous and dedicated team providing humanitarian aid and support in conflict zones across Burma. Thomas Sicree will share his experience of three months of volunteering with the Free Burma Rangers to bring freedom, justice, and peace to a war-torn land.
Speaker bio: Thomas Sicree, graduated from Saint Francis University in 2017 where he commissioned in the army. He served 7 years in the army as a field artillery officer, leaving active duty in June of 2024. He volunteered with The Free Burma Rangers from October 2024 to January 2025.
