The Catholic Diocese of Arlington is in receipt of an allegation of sexual misconduct involving a minor against Rev. Charles A. Ryan, a former priest of the diocese, ordained in 1948 and who passed away in 1995. The alleged incidents occurred during Fr. Ryan’s tenure as Pastor of St. Philip the Apostle Church, in Falls Church, VA, from 1981-1986. Upon receiving this allegation, the diocese promptly reported it to law enforcement.

The diocese encourages anyone who knows of any information specifically related to this allegation or other allegations of sexual misconduct involving Fr. Ryan to reach out to the diocesan Victim Assistance Coordinator at (703) 841-2530. Additionally, the diocese encourages anyone who knows of any information related to any misconduct or abuse on the part of any cleric or employee of the diocese to reach out to the Victim Assistance Coordinator and to notify civil authorities.
