ARLINGTON, Va. - On Monday, June 8, 2020, Bishop Michael F. Burbidge, Catholic Diocese of Arlington, will celebrate a Mass for the Preservation of Peace and Justice at the Cathedral of St. Thomas More in Arlington, Va. That evening Bishop Burbidge will also lead a Rosary to pray for peace and justice in our nation. Both the Mass and the Rosary will be available virtually. Bishop Burbidge respectfully asks Catholics in the Diocese, and all people of good will, to join in prayer so that as a society, we might root out racial injustice and move forward in unity, peace and justice.

“As a people of faith and as a nation of laws, we must always work to ensure justice. I ask all in the Diocese of Arlington to pray for the repose of the soul of Mr. Floyd, as well as for his family and friends who are undoubtedly grieving and mourning at this time,” said Bishop Burbidge. “May we also pray that we who are rightfully outraged by what has transpired will be guided to address effectively and peacefully the wrongs committed and to work together in restoring justice, peace and harmony throughout our nation and in all of our communities.”
