Annual Women's Conference: True Presence to Calm the Present

Dear Ladies, the Office of Marriage, Family and Respect Life and the Arlington Diocesan Council of Catholic Women hope you can join us for a day of spiritual enrichment & fellowship with talented Sonja Corbitt, author and TV and radio host, along with Stephanie Burke, Executive Director of the Avila Institute, Saturday, March 12, 2022 at St. Joseph Church in Herndon from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions of our presenters and then participate in a listening session with Bishop Burbidge where they can share their experience of being Catholic in the current age, as well as their hopes and dreams for the Church in preparation for the 2023 Synod of Bishops. Sonja Corbitt

Sonja Corbitt is the Bible Study Evangelista and creator of "the best modernization of lectio," the LOVE the Word® Bible study method and journal.  A best-selling author and Telly Award-winning broadcaster, her weekly radio and television shows and variety of other unique approaches to Scripture create space for busy Christians to hear and experience God through the scriptures.  Sonja writes for Magnificat magazine and the Ascension Press blog, and widely among other internet outlets. A lively and frequent guest on a variety of national television and radio shows, Sonja studies with Holy Apostles College and Seminary, home schools, and lives with her husband and boys in Tennessee. Stephanie Burke

Stephanie Burke serves as the Executive Director of the Avila Foundation. She received her undergraduate degrees in Spanish and Vocal Performance from Texas Tech University and is a graduate of the Spiritual Direction Program of the Avila Institute. She is grateful to serve alongside her husband, Dan, in the important work of the Avila Foundation, Apostoli Viae, and has a particular passion for the important work of the High Calling program which she oversees.  They are parents of four amazing adult children, one beautiful granddaughter, and spend their leisure time serving the Church.
