Announced on October 4: The Life is VERY Good 2023 events have been cancelled. When we decided to move forward with having these events, there was every indication that many people from across the country were planning to attend, but this was not the case once registration opened. Now that Roe v. Wade has been overturned, most groups are turning their attention to their state Marches for Life. Due to this, we canceled the large event, but are looking at other possibilities for any groups that are still in the area.
For the past 14 years, it has meant a great deal to us to host these events for thousands of young people in our Diocese and welcome many more from across the country; cancelling them was a very difficult decision to make. However, we like to think that perhaps the Lord used these events in their own little way the embolden a generation of young people to have a deeper respect for life and to help overturn Roe v. Wade! Thank you for your support to these events for many years!
Bishop Burbidge would like to invite Arlington Diocesan groups to join him for the Mass at The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception on January 19th, and you are still encouraged to participate in the National March for Life on January 20th. We will share information here about the Virginia Defending Life Day in Richmond on February 1st as soon as it is available.
