The Diocese of Arlington continues to be a faith-filled and thriving diocese! 2025 was the Universal Jubilee Year of Hope, and in Arlington we opened our hearts to God’s love and mercy.

“As we look back on this grace-filled year, may we give thanks to God for His countless blessings and renew our commitment to live as Pilgrims of Hope – people of faith, mercy and joy,” said Bishop Michael F. Burbidge of the Diocese of Arlington.

Some highlights from our 2025 Annual Report, released on Thursday, December 18 include:

  • 25,677 meals served at Christ House in Alexandria, up more than 25% from 2024
  • 531 women were aided by Gabriel Project, a more than 6% increase from 2024
  • 1,530 Catholic marriages (an increase of 11%)
  • 1,435 candidates for OCIA (an increase of nearly 20%)
  • The SPRED program, religious education for those with disabilities, has increased from nine to 15 parishes

The Diocese of Arlington is comprised of 21 counties and seven cities in Northern Virginia, the Shenandoah Region, Fredericksburg and the Northern Neck.  There are more than 80 worship sites, including parish churches, mission churches, and chapels. There are 301 priests serving 431,100 registered parishioners.
