“As our nation celebrates the 250th anniversary of “As our nation celebrates the 250th anniversary of its founding, may we renew our promises to live as one nation under God; rely on his love and mercy; allow our faith to guide us; and remain united as brothers and sisters. Only then will we truly be independent and free!“ This morning, Bishop Burbidge offered a Mass for Independence Day, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States of America at the Cathedral of Saint Thomas More.
As we give thanks for the blessings of our nation As we give thanks for the blessings of our nation today, may we also remember the responsibility that comes with the gift of freedom. Let us pray for our country, our leaders, and all who call America home. May God continue to bless our nation with peace, wisdom, justice, and hope. Happy Fourth of July!
