Father Juan A. Puigbó was installed as pastor at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Fairfax. The Mass was celebrated by the Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge, Bishop of Arlington, on Saturday, July 9 at 5 p.m.
Father Puigbó was born April 6, 1975, in Caracas, Venezuela. He was ordained to the priesthood March 24, 2001, in Caracas, for the Diocese of Maturin. Just a few months after ordination, he moved to the U.S. to pursue a sacred theology licentiate in systematic theology from The Catholic University of America in Washington. He graduated in 2004 and then moved to Spain for a master's in marriage and family from the University of Navarra, graduating in 2006. He then earned a doctorate in family sciences from the Institute of Educational Links in Mexico.
Father Puigbó served in Washington and was incardinated into the Diocese of Arlington June 30, 2014.
