“Salubong”, Tagalog for “Meeting”, is a Filipino tradition where the faithful gather at dawn on Easter to participate in the reenactment of the encounter of Christ and His mother on the day of His Resurrection. The Salubong features statues of the Risen Christ and the Virgin Mary in two separate processions eventually meeting in front of the church and commencing a glorious celebration.
