We are so fortunate to have had such great demand for this camp, though we are sorry it has meant that we don’t have room for everyone who wants to attend.

FIAT Camp Details
What is FIAT Camp? 5 days and 4 nights at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary, for high school girls who want to gain tools for living and praying to lay a solid foundation for their future. FIAT Camp is staffed by religious sisters and young women also striving to grow in holiness. Arlington priests serve as the chaplains for camp.
Mornings at camp focus on the spiritual, including Mass and talks, and afternoons are all about sports, games and crafts; evening events are a mix. One day there’s a pilgrimage to the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes.
When? July 19-23, 2026. Camp opens at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, pick-up is 1:00 p.m. Thursday and campers must be present for the whole of camp. There is noon Mass and a picnic for families on opening Sunday.
Who? Girls currently in grade 9-12, who won’t be 19 by the time of camp.
Cost? $350 includes private room, hall bath, all meals and activities. Payment plans and financial aid are available, and applying for aid does not hinder your chances in the lottery. (Please note that the $350 covers only 50% of the costs of camp, so donations over and above the registration fee are welcome.)
Why? Read some comments from campers on what they most enjoyed and see photos from the 2025 camp:

Interested in serving on FIAT Camp Staff?
If you really feel that God may be calling you to life as a religious sister, time spent at FIAT is an excellent way to “try it out,” as you’re living and praying and working and laughing with sisters as you serve alongside them at our discernment camp for high school girls.
You will get to know the sisters as individuals, hear how God revealed His plan to them, and also hear about the prayer life and apostolic works of their orders. You will also participate in the daily prayer of the camp: Mass, Holy Hour, Rosary, and meditations and talks given by the sisters, and serve as assistant group leaders for the 88 high school girls who come to grow in their own discernment.
FIAT staff members are 19-25 years old and apply directly with the Vocations Director. Contact the Office of Vocations in January if you are interested.

FIAT (Vocation Events for High School Girls)
‘FIAT’ is a Latin word for ‘Let it be done’. It was Mary’s response to the angel Gabriel when she was asked to become the mother of Jesus. ‘Let it be done unto me according to Your Will’ refers to Mary’s ‘Yes’ to God.
The FIAT group offers fun and formative events throughout the year that help you grow in your relationship with Christ, interact with religious sisters, and learn more about all vocations. One of the biggest events is the summer camp in July. See below for upcoming events.
FIAT events are for young women currently in grades 9-12.
Why the name FIAT?

“FIAT” is a Latin word for “Let it be done.” It was Mary’s response to the angel Gabriel when she was asked to become the mother of Jesus. “Let it be done unto me according to Your Will” refers to Mary’s “Yes” to God. The members of FIAT are young women in high school who desire to grow in faithful discipleship by modeling their personal holiness on that of our Lady. By doing so they hope to be better able to discover their own vocation invitation from our Lord, whatever that might be, and make their own “fiat” or “yes” to Him.
