World Day of the Poor Events & Volunteer Opportunities

Pope Francis announced Sunday, November 19th as World Day of the Poor. During the week leading up to World Day of the Poor, he invites us to create ‘moments of encounter’ with those we serve.

It is my wish that, in the week preceding the World Day of the Poor…  Christian communities will make every effort to create moments of encounter and friendship, solidarity and concrete assistance.” (World Day of the Poor Message, June 2017)

In response, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington (CCDA) will be hosting volunteer days, presentations, and events the week of November 13th through November 20th, 2017 that invite the community to learn how CCDA is serving the poor.
