Watch Bishop Burbidge’s homily for the National Prayer Vigil Opening Mass for Life

Like Jesus, it is not enough to reserve our message for those who will readily receive it and to pursue victories only in those places where we are likely to win. We must persist in those places where our message is rejected. We must bring light to the darkest corners.” – Bishop Michael F. Burbidge

Day of Prayer for the Protection of Unborn Children

Thursday, January 22, 2026

“A great prayer for life is urgently needed, a prayer which will rise up throughout the world. Through special initiatives and in daily prayer, may an impassioned plea rise to God, the Creator and lover of life, from every Christian community, from every group and association, from every family and from the heart of every believer.”

Starting in 2009, thousands have attended the Diocese of Arlington’s Life is VERY Good events to pray for the success of the National March for Life in changing our hearts and those of others in this country. This has prepared many youth and young adults to take to the streets of Washington D.C. to make their voices heard as they proclaim the gospel of life.

National March for Life

Friday, January 23, 2026

The March for Life is an inspiring, peaceful, vibrant, and joy-filled rally of women, men, young people, and children from all across the country. Every year, tens of thousands of pro-lifers converge on the National Mall and march on Capitol Hill on the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling.

We gather to celebrate life. We celebrate each and every life, from the moment of conception. We envision a world where every life is celebrated, valued, and protected.

Registration is open for the Diocesan Festival: Celebrating Faith+Freedom
