Nine months ago, Fabiola learned that beneath her own heart beat the tiny heart of her unborn child. And though he was with her, she felt incredibly alone.
“I was feeling very lonely but once (I was placed with a Gabriel Project angel), I felt like, ‘OK, I am going to give everything to God — God has my baby and my life in his hands,’ ” said Fabiola through a translator. “I felt like there really was an angel helping me at this time of my life.”

Saint Margaret of Cortona Transitional Housing
Through Catholic Charities
The St. Margaret of Cortona Transitional and Maternity Housing Programs now supports two program tracks helping single mothers in exceptionally difficult circumstances.
St. Margaret’s assist mothers with children who may be transitioning from homeless and domestic violence shelters to independent living. They also assist women pregnant with their first child or pregnant moms who already have other children and find themselves at significant risk in their current living situations.

Choosing Adoption
A birth mom finds joy in a difficult choice
Katy unexpectedly found herself pregnant and went from considering abortion to choosing to place her child in an open adoption - a choice that brought her unexpected joy. Today, she has also found community through the Birth Mom Support Group at Catholic Charities, Diocese of Arlington, which provides lifelong services.
