Diocesan Social Media Workshops
The new Website and Social Media Policy (
en español) for the Catholic Diocese of Arlington directs parishes, schools, ministries, and other diocesan entities in the management of social media and websites. This followed the
2017 diocesan Communications Survey in which the Office of Communications received feedback that priests, parishes, and schools desired professional development for staff and volunteers about new media, websites, and other digital tools and resources.
As such, the Diocese will host workshops in October 2018 for interested clergy, staff, and volunteers involved in managing social media for parishes, schools, and ministries. The objective of these initial three workshops will be to:
- Explain and address questions about the Website and Social Media Policy for the Catholic Diocese of Arlington
- Teach social media best practices and guidelines, specifically covering Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube
- Learn what other sessions attendees would appreciate in the future
Who should attend?
Anyone from your parish or school who has responsibility for content production for, or monitoring of, any media, such as those involved in communications, marketing, social media, websites, and so on.
