What did you do prior to entering seminary?

I was 8th grade home room and Religion teacher as well as the K-8 Technology teacher as St. Ambrose Catholic School in Annandale, VA.

What influenced your decision to apply for seminary entrance?

The Lord has put different people, both lay and religious, into my life that influenced my love for Him and His Church. Through their direction and example, I grew in prayer with my relationship to God and felt the call to apply.

Why do you want to be a priest?

I want to live my life for Christ and be a reflection of Him to all I meet. In a particular way I want to be there for His people throughout the good and the bad they experience and, God-willing, bring His peace and joy to them.

What are your favorite pastimes?

I enjoy reading, hiking, hammocking, kayaking, fishing, watching movies, board games and spending time with family.

What is your favorite quote?

“And He was made known to them through the breaking of the bread” (Luke 24:35).

Who is your favorite Saint and why?

If it had to be one, it would be St. Edmund Campion. He was a Jesuit missionary to the people of England during the persecution of Queen Elizabeth I. He was a brilliant writer who was actually a favorite of the queen but gave up a life in her court to become a priest and minister to the people in secret. He was eventually caught, tortured, and martyred outside the Tower of London. He and His companions sang the Te Deum as they were carted to the gallows.

What advice would you give to a young man thinking about the seminary?

Foster a relationship with our Lord through prayer. Receive and visit Him as often as possible in the Eucharist. Pray for humility Seek silence. Remain open and do not let anything discourage you.
