What influenced your decision to apply for seminary entrance?

After a lot of prayer and listening, I still wasn't sure where God was calling me to go after high school. At the Arlington diocesan work camp, the Lord revealed in adoration and in scripture that applying for seminary was the step He wanted me to take.

Why do you want to be a priest?

I want to be an instrument of God's grace to others as much as possible; God uses priests in very unique and powerful ways.

What are your favorite pastimes?

Soccer, skiing, and singing

What is your favorite quote?

"You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it rests in you." -St. Augustine

Who is your favorite Saint and why?

Daniel, and not just because he has the best name. Daniel was chosen to serve in king Nebuchadnezzar's palace because of his wisdom and insight. Daniel interpreted dreams and had divine visions, but that's not my favorite thing about him. Daniel served the king well, but never forgot that he served God before the king or anyone else. He was sentenced to death many times for his devotion and trust in the Lord, but the Lord always delivered him from danger!

What advice would you give to a young man thinking about the seminary?

Every day ask God for clarity and spend time in silence listening to Him.
