What did you do prior to entering seminary?

I was a full-time student at the University of Louisiana where I studied marketing. I was also briefly a leasing agent for a local property management company before entering seminary.

What influenced your decision to apply for seminary entrance?

I had gotten the idea to be a priest when I was about seventeen, feeling attracted to the “other-worldliness” and sacred nature of the priesthood. But I got scared and put it off. I decided to go to the University of Louisiana (my father's family is from there). My junior year of college I started to get serious about our faith thanks to the help and guidance of a very good friend. After six months of thought and prayer the idea of the priesthood returned. I made the decision to approach the diocesan vocations director, Fr. Isenberg, and after some conversations with him decided to take the step to apply.

Why do you want to be a priest?

I want to help people and give my life to Christ.

What are your favorite pastimes?

Reading, cooking, trying new food, going to the movies. Mainly I like anything that gets me out of the house or doing something creative like cooking.

What is your favorite quote?

“They are in front of us, behind us, and we are flanked on both sides by an enemy that outnumbers us 29:1. They can't get away from us now!”- Lewis B. “Chesty” Puller, USMC

Who is your favorite Saint and why?

Saint Catherine of Siena, for her radical devotion and complete abandonment to Our Lord.

What advice would you give to a young man thinking about the seminary?

Jump in with both feet or not at all. “I hereby command you: Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)
