Why I work in Youth Ministry: I have a deep desire that my sons come to know and love Christ. My love for our youth is not much different. I want to share that love of Christ with them and help them understand our faith and learn the disciplines that will keep them connected to Christ throughout their lives.
About Me: I was illustrating children’s books after studying drawing and painting, having worked recruiting and teaching at the college level, and later working in web, multimedia and cartoon animation, when God called me to ministry. I pray using drawing and it was a desire to share faith through art that brought me to ministry. Favorite Food/Meal: Bacon. Scrambled eggs come a close second.
Favorite Band/Musician: Are you gonna make me pick?
Favorite Pastime: Ask me the next time you see me. 20 years ago I would have said drawing, digital painting. 15 years ago I added wood working to the , but really it’s learning a new craft. At any given time I could be making a new piece of camping equipment, making woolen tools for carpentry, or just making knives, sandals or moccasins.
Favorite Saint: St. Michael, St. Joseph, St. Ignatius, St. John Bosco, St. Theresa (all of them)… Do I only get to pick one? If I only get to pick one, then my dad. Please pray that the Holy Spirit inspires his Bishop to put forth the cause to the Vatican.
Favorite Scripture Verse: I love the passage of the burning bush, the part where Yahweh tells Moses to take off his sandals. How often do we walk hollow ground and are not aware of it? Isn’t God present here and now?
Favorite Book: I am currently revisiting St. Augustine’s Confessions.
